Rotary Bangalore Abilities successfully completed its second full year of existence under the leadership of President Rtn Anandhi Vishwanathan and secretary Rtn Nagaraj H. During the year the club was part of several district projects including Avoidable Blindness, Koti Nati,Food grain distribution during Covid – 19 lockdown, Gift a mask and menstrual health management. Abilities also started several new initiatives including Upashruthi Helpline – an online counselling service for persons with disabilities, a first aid workshop for the disabled and a sex education workshop for youth with disabilities.
Its pinnacle of glory was the celebration of International Day of persons with Disabilities where Abilities played committee the lead role in a 16-Club joint project under the district vocational service committee in organizing the second edition of vocational diversity awards 2019 that recognized exemplary professional achievements of eight persons belonging to the diversity community. An impromptu fundraiser during the event raised more than Rs. 3,50,000 in awards to the awardees.
